SCENE 01
REPORTING FOR DUTY
The man who we will call clifton arrives to a hotel dressed in what looks like a military uniform sourced from the good will. Clifton drops his bag, and stares at the glowing hotel tablet like it’s his last hope. The screen cheerfully reads: “National Wellness Program – Gov’t Approved. Do your daily service first to earn free companions. Good citizens serve, then rest.” He taps “Start Service,” grabs a bag of tools and shuffles out the back door into a dark warehouse. We cannot see exactly what he is doing The tablet in his pocket buzzes: “Service complete. Reward unlocked.” He smiles for the first time all day.
