part one - violent nature
PART TWO - ANNIHILATE ME

I PREVAIL

  • “The first and fundamental law of nature, which is, to seek peace and follow it. But when that fails, to defend ourselves against all force, by any means we can.”

    — Thomas Hobbes

When I listened to violent nature flow into an Annihilate ME, I had a post apocalyptic vision of a two-part experience for fans and new viewers across the globe.

I saw an action-packed thriller for Violent Nature, followed by a GUT PUNCHING rebirth in Annihilate ME.

PART ONE - VIOLENT NATURE

In a desolate corridor, a group of scrappy humans sit in a circle, reviewing their plan of attack to break into the last starship before Earth runs out of oxygen. It’s like the classic anticipation you feel with Star Wars before the rebels take off to destroy the Death Star, but this is more visceral and dark, like something you would see in the original Blade Runner. The future is evil and depressing, and time is running out for these people. Their plan is bleak, but it’s their only chance of survival.

The leader uses broken plastic toys and totems to outline the strategy step by step. The film cuts to quick flashes of what’s to come as each step is laid out.

Step 01: Exit the base, holding their breath as long as possible because their oxygen tanks are nearly empty. Enter two gas-guzzling Chevy Suburbans from the 1990s.

Step 02: The cars must race towards the star-ship at full speed, exhausting their final stash of gasoline.

Step 03: The lead car has a cobbled-together EMP capable of disabling the tesla-coil defense systems. These towers turn humans into explosions of flesh and goo. - Certain death.

Step 04: The team has one RPG and one grenade. Right when the EMP goes off, they have to hit a power supply generating the security gates.

Step 05: - After the tesla-coil and shield are disabled, the team has to fight replicant cyborgs to enter the launch pad. The overlords who run Earth are on their last leg, so this tiny batch of cyborgs could be overthrown with the training they have. The humans targeted this launch pad due to its remote location and limited resources- this is scrappy vs scrappy

Step 06: Force their way onto the ship, killing anyone in their way.

THE MUSIC STARTS

The team masks up and bolts out the door into the suburbans hauling ass into the desolate dying landscape. The lead car charges the EMP off a cheap power inverter. Sparks fly setting the tone that survival is slim.

As the cars approach the tower, the defensive systems get a shot off - the lead car swerves and the second car is hit - blood splats the windows in every direction, filling the remaining fighters with horror. This is especially traumatizing for the young boy of the family. He clutches his parents, holding back tears to the best of his ability. The RPG is gone.

The lead car triggers the EMP, inching closer to the launch pad. So far, all the passengers, including the young boy, have been holding their breath. Enraged about his friends dying, the young boy is the first one to put on his oxygen mask and draw his knife. Like humans, The cyborgs on this platform are out of ammunition. It’s a violent fight with knives, scrap metal, and anything else that can be found. It’s an all-out blood bath between AI and the human race. The cyborgs bleed just like humans, so imagine some Tarantino-level brutality as these people fight for their lives. Biting, neck-snapping, stabbing, choking - violent nature.

All of the humans die except for the family. The mother takes one last look at her son and husband before she sprints toward the tower with the grenade. This is her final goodbye as she sacrifices herself in an explosion.

The father and son make it onto the ship.

PART TWO - ANNIHILATE ME

We see the perspective of the mother throwing the grenade at the platform and jumping into a blast door. Her leg is broken with a compound fracture - her bones sticking out of her leg covered in maggots - skin pulled back from the bones - covered in ash and dirt. She crawls around the bunker and finds an oxygen mask. After a brief rest, she sets her eyes on an out-of-commission cyborg staring right at her. The rotting, lifelike eyes pierce the soul with an unsettling darkness. The woman drags herself in agony, looking for a conscious uploading bay. To her luck, she finds an older model and boots it up.

As the upload bay activates - the enemy cyborg boots up.

The woman climbs into what looks like a hospital bed, locates a sharp neural headset, and commits to the blades mechanically stabbing into her brain. Blood drips down her face in agony.

She follows prompts on a screen consenting to mortal suicide in exchange for a robotic existence. She initiates the transfer, seizing and vibrating beyond her control. She grabs the sheets of the bed, screaming. She finds her inner sanity when she sees her life uploading before her eyes. Glimpses of Pre-internet childhood, green trees while riding bikes. The glimpses of her past reduce her screams to a quivering and unhinged jaw.

The cyborg emerges from the shadows and approaches the woman—we enter her heat sync point of view. The cyborg’s system targets the woman with ANNIHILATE written in bold letters.

The Cyborg rips the headset off of the mother as she is slipping in and out of death. The Cyborg begins to choke the woman with mechanical strength. With a last stand of energy, the woman jams the headset into the artificial skull of the Cyborg. Now, the AI views the woman’s life flashing and uploading to the servers. Only when the AI witnesses the birth of the mother’s son does an ounce of sentient empathy arrive. The AI releases its grasp and quickly slams the headset back onto the woman, cradling her as she leaves her mortal body, entering the state of digital immortality.

On the woman’s final breath, the AI sheds an artificial tear for the first time in its life. The moment is profound, giving hope that AI could possess the ability to align with human existence.

The song ends fading into glimpses of a body getting printed. The mother walks down a hallway, removing her hood. She finds her husband and son at a ramen shop - the son looks at her in absolute disbelief and bolts into her arms. - Fade to black

I SEE BOTH PERFORMANCES SET IN A FOGGY VOID. PART ONE WILL BE DRAMATIC ORANGES, AND PART TWO LIVES IN A CYAN WORLD.
