Stephen Wayne Mallett is an award-winning director from Ventura County, CA. Growing up in a suburb one hour north of LA, Stephen honed his photography, cinematography, editing, and production skills. He founded Green Glow Films in 2010, a non-union production company that continues to produce viral content for clients across the globe.

He started shooting and editing on a MiniDV Handycam, which he describes as his version of Super 8. Throughout high school, Stephen requested to swap written assignments for video assignments, which blazed a trail for the visual arts in a small community. He studied film at Moorpark College, where he got his hands on bigger cameras and more complex editing bays. While in school, he started working for Apple in 2007, and he became obsessed with bold marketing ideologies established by the rebels of Silicon Valley. Stephen added working as a production assistant to the mix, exposing him to union commercials and studio features. As a hands-on learner, Stephen swiftly left school and Apple to work production full time. The melting pot of projects provided opportunities to work closely with Christopher Nolan, Cameron Crowe, Rupert Sanders, Gore Verbinski, Janusz Kaminski, Rodrigo Prieto, and more. Within these environments, he absorbed the cadence of shooting on film just as the digital boom was about to take over.

Stephen was in the early wave of the 5D DSLR boom and leveraged the technology to begin directing and editing music videos on weekends with friends. After his first MTV premiere for Talib Kweli, Stephen quickly began directing and producing videos for major record labels, including Columbia, RCA, Republic, Warner, Atlantic, Epic, Sony Japan, and more.
